I believe there is some sort of Federal law relating to the disposal of American armour. Hence the plethora of FSCs, 432s and Chieftans mocked up to look like M1s in American cinema such as The Walking Dead etc.

Is that the one where they can only give it the people they will be fighting next week? But thanks, I did wonder why so many US films had Brit kit pretending to be US or Russian. Just assumed they were all shot in the docklands like FMJ.
The only thing that impressed me about our LADs 434 was how they dispensed with any pac lifting kit and had it decked out with a TV and beer in the back.
They made it look like WE were roughing it.

I can't say i'd noticed, but then again I don't think I ever passed an AFV recognition test in 12 years.
Mumble,mumble...floppy tracks or something like that.

More like the M113 is still in actual use so not many have been surplused out, and the mocked up Chieftans were originally for a movie made without DoD support (Courage under Fire) so no Abrams loaned.

I think Veluzet Armored Vehicles made the fake Abrams for that. They made T-72's from M8A1's for Red Dawn. I thought the Puma's mocked up to look like MIL-24's were pretty good too but they must have been a cow to fly with that false cockpit blocking your vision.
