Future of the TA?

#3
No this is clearly not the future of the TA

1. This equipment has not been in service with the regular army for the last 20 years. No chance of the TA getting it.

2. Training budgets will not stretch to the licensing and SDC of soldiers on the Tricycle, Articulated.

3. JSP 341, Chap 7, Para 7013 a. III. clearly prohibits the rearward firing of automatic weapons from non fixed body vehicles having fewer than 6 wheels, 3 of which are driven from the kneeling position.

4. Following defence procurement procedures (fasttrack) the prototype viewed above at COTS of £89.32 per unit will have to be subjected to FP and stability trials, Network enabled capability and Bowmanisation, and merging with the Defece Enviromental Structures Project to make Future Army Pedal Power Systems to make each unit £1.2m plus the Saudi kickback and look like this:

5. Its just silly!

Not to mention the fact that it will require more than one crew member to ensure the mobility of the vehicle. Where is the top-cover component?

I hope those are run-flat tyres. The anti-IED cage is good though.

and what about the conversion programme from land rover to this new equipment, all the t.a. v.m.'s will have to retrain and that will cost a packet.no gentlemen, this equipment is not financially viable.that said,it never stopped the m.o.d. cretins before.so we'll have three thousand of them then lol.
