Frozen Chicken Injury CASEVAC St Kilda

Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Who was the Officer that was a CASEVAC from St Kilda after being struck by a frozen chicken?

Was the chicken launched from South Uist or was it a Hostile Action?

Was the chicken thawed cooked and eaten after the event or kept as evidence for the injury claim?

I know, these are fowl questions, and there is more, but the historical events on the Island must be accurate!
  2. Ration drop from civilian aircraft.

some years ago, a charity was doing an emergency food drop in part of Africa where there was a famine. there was no runway so the food was being dropped by parachute on big pallets. some of the men rush to where the food was being dropped and were crushed to death when one pallet landed on top of them.
  4. Thanks, it wasn't the KGB then?

It was fired from a 105 because the BC's dog was in hiding.
  6. I was in Movements HQ Scotland and used to task the LCL/aircraft movements for the resupply of St Kilda and remember the signal coming in describing the incident report - a classic that will never be forgotten.
  7. Now that would be telling.
