Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. So then what do people think?

    1) Is there a requirement to try and retain trained people?
    2) Is this focussed at the right people?
    3) Do people think it will be effective or will it upset more people than it retains?

I notice it is only half what is being offered to the RN aircrew, are Army people cheaper to retain?
  2. a visitor from the media????
  3. No but...actually that could be a good idea...I'll add that to the list right below Truck Drivers are Us :D
  4. 1) Yes
    2) No
    3) No followed by very definitely Yes

  5. If you only have so much money to spend you will always use it to keep the "specialist" or those in demand first.

    Someone will always be unhappy!

As to the RN question, the first round of FRI they gave to quite a few RM SNCO Pilots who were already on exteneded service, this wasn't the case with the AAC IIRC?
  6. Timex, I recall the criteria was 5 years to run to IPP with at least 3 years to serve. If you were post IPP but still had 3 years to serve on your Continuance/Extension/LSL(A) then that was OK.
  7. SL, that sounds about right. I was paid it and thought it a bit strange as I would have been staying to finish off the last few years for pension?
