FRES 2: The Revenge aka MIV

Already a APC? Do they mean greater than 4 people? Wonder if they are aiming off for a future buy to replace 432?

Wasnt the ATGM version originally the plan until it was Cut/"not needed"/reviewed?

What vehicles we speaking about here? Armoured SV? Wolfhound?
stretched hull and yes, SV

Bit of a difference between a Armoured SV and BOXER ALV. I doubt any(?) Army operateds a logistic vehicle equivalent to BOXER.

Interesting, although 2 crew and 2 operators for 20 tons and a 600 HP engine is not a good logistical ratio IMO, for two vehicle 24 hour operations thats 40 tons and 1200 HP worth of fuel just for one CP.
The command vehicle of AJAX, (Athena) is 800HP.

We always seem to go for the cheap and nasty solution . Penny pinching by the MOD again and it doesn't always save money in the long run as we all know . .
The retention of squat in a bag will be touted as a green solution.

To be green it will have to be a paper bag . Plastics not green ask Greta .

KURs
Must be biodegradable
Must be resistant to the after effects of a curry and 6 pints.

I never said they were the same. You asked if we ever did armoured resupply and the answer is yes, with mainly SV on CLPs.

Normally we just wind the windows up in the face of incoming.

Agreed with situations like Mali, but at the end of a day something that can M/K-KILL a Armoured SV probably isn't going to do a £6m Boxer much good either.

Armoured SV for A2
Flatbed Bushmaster for A1 (Similar to stalwart)

If it's that kinetic that you need a BOXER what is the Cargo going to look like when you finally get to the resupply?
The Stalwart's major problem was that it could only carry 5 tons of cargo - that's why we used old AECs and Bedford 14T before DROPS came to the rescue. A flatbed Bushmaster simply won't have the capacity unless you're going to break bulk and x-load to a different platform near to the FEBA.

That really should be in the AJAX mix. ARES, or a version thereof?

Completely agree!

Carries two pallets. Excellent.
If they had (MIV) a flat deck with a built-in crane that slots on in place of the mission module, you could probably get space for 4 pallets. The space underneath would provide either more storage or stand alone power supply for the crane or a loading system.

Wow! FOUR pallets...

Might make a replacement for Pinzgauer in light gun batteries?
Pinz tows the gun and carries the crew, like the old 1 Tonne? Does it carry any rounds?
