French army falling apart

Discussion in 'Current Affairs, News and Analysis' started by CQMS, Jun 6, 2008.

Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. The French has an army?
  2. Are we keeping an eye on the Germans?
  3. This is taken from the article:

Can anyone explain the definition of "operational troops" and what 50,000 is as a proportion of their Army? How does the British Army compare in numbers and proportion?
  4. Pretty obvious,
France wants someone else to pay for the New Euro Force and sees no point in forking out for it's old style troops.
  5. I like the first comment on the bottom of the page.

As a former American Marine, I'd rather bail out the French than the English.

  8. Achtung Panzer !
  9. Thank you Brian,

But who bails your lot out right now? You who's in front.
  10. Buchen Sie zur Endstation
  11. I don't blame you. If the British need bailing out, it is likely to be a far more difficult/dangerous task.
  12. Well played sir!

  13. This has the hallmarks of being war by media. It'll be interesting to see which side was behind it, the government arguing its case for the need for reductions or the military trying to shame them into increasing their funding.
