The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Join Norfolkline in Dunkirk for the 70th Anniversary of Operation Dynamo - VETERANS TRAVEL FOR FREE

Operation Dynamo was the codename for one of the most celebrated events in military history - the evacuation of nearly 340,000 British and French soldiers from the beaches and harbour in Dunkirk between 27th May and 4th of June 1940. The 70th Anniversary celebrations include a host of activities in Dunkirk over the equivalent period during 2010.

Norfolkline will be joining in these celebrations by sending one of its ferries to join the flotilla of vessels gathering in commemoration of this historic occasion on 27th May 2010, which will form a key day during the celebration period. For more details of the commemorations taking place download our events guide and map. Further information can be found at the Office de Tourisme de Dunkerque Dunes de Flandre.

Military veterans wishing to travel across to France to join in these celebrations can TRAVEL FOR FREE on our scheduled crossings from Dover to Dunkirk during the period from the 21st May 2010 to the 6th June 2010. To qualify you must be a retired veteran from Her Majesty's Forces and you must call 0844 847 5037 to arrange your booking. This offer is subject to availability and only one free return crossing is allowed per veteran. Travel must be undertaken ex-Dover between the 21st May and 6th June 2010 returning ex-Dunkirk within the same period.
