Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Frank Maher was a stuntman who worked on a lot of 1960s TV (Double for Patrick McGoohan in Dangerman Prisoner ) + Robin Hood Blakes 7

His obituary claims that he was at Arnhem. http://news.independent.co.uk/people/obituaries/article2785440.ece If he fought anywhere in NW Europe he would have been under 16. Anyone know the facts? Which unit did he serve in?

Born in 1929, in Dulwich, south London, the son of Wembley Stadium's head chef, Maher was a gold medal-winning boxer at school, then lied about his age to join the Army's Parachute Regiment at 15 and take part in the Battle of Arnhem during the Second World War. He and a friend were wounded
