Formula 1 - 2020 season

I do rather object to a man who, in his lifetime, has probably earned more money than my family in its entire history, telling me that I'm privileged.

I keep saying this- slavery is only bad if the slaves are black. Get with the programme!!!
Lots of black slaves in Africa, China, Middle East, North Korea, South America - resounding silence from BLM

He, Hamilton, is just another bored multi-multi millionaire with nothing to do. If he wants BAMEs to be at the top then he has to convince them they really need to win.
imo Hamilton and his BLM ilk want press-gangs hunting down black/brown and chaining into driver/rider seats

And yet, if he had approached it in a different way he could have garnered support and come out of it looking good.

A bit of "Look guys, I am the only black driver in F1 and as grateful as I am for that I, and people I know, have had to face racism in a way that you may not appreciate. I had fans in blackface at the Spanish Grand Prix in 2007 and that hit home hard enough it still registers today. This is an issue that matters to me, and I can understand why some people are reluctant to address matters of race but if you agree with me in any way I would appreciate some support. Thank You."
Fans liked him so much they coloured their 'white suprematist' faces to look similar to their hero and he sees that as an insult - more projection of Hamilton's hate & racism

You can’t change history, it’s important to learn from it, both the good and the bad.
Exactly and is why Auschwitz, Belsen etc still open

Meanwhile, in F1

Hes a bloody good driver and he should stick to that and keep his gob shut. As for some people saying he is the greatest F1 driver of all time, I totally disagree with that.

Oops, I read it as
Richard Kasler, Automation Team Leader at Mercedes AMG High Performance Powertrains, said:
“We had four MiR200’s in total, and they have been invaluable in allowing us to make 10,000 CRAP devices in ten days"

Plank Of The Week with Mike Graham: Lewis Hamilton
He gets this weeks vote from me as well. Bernie Ecclestone just trolled him big style by saying that some black people can be more racist than whites in a CNN interview. Lewis jumped out of the water to bite that hook. And Lewis is now "pushing" for a race in Africa. Because its apparently the most important area for Formula 1 to race in and because Lewis Hamilton is now deciding what the makeup of Formula 1 should be and where it should race apparently.

I want to see a journo ask him if the thinks the board of Mercedes Benz is too white. See how he handles that one.

Or Vettel
I used to always cheer LH & always was “anyone but Vettel” But Hamilton’s recent foray into BLM & his abject ignorance & two faced lectures have moved me to even supporting finger boy over him.

So anyone but Hamilton, even finger boy at a push.......

Lewis does make a valid point about a race in Africa, it’s a global sport and should be represented as such, especially as there was a S.African GP until ‘93.

Bold: and then socialist BLM dictators took over and trashed economy

Which country? Who will pay for the circuit build and host fee? Oxfam? Soon to be gone DfID?

Security? There is a reason Paris-Dakar stopped

Diversity? Maybe Venezuela could host a PDVSA Maldonado F1 GP - bring your own food, electicity...

India GP removed as it was corrupt and embarrassing

Lewis hasn't made a valid point in a while now, all he sees these days is race and black is his favourite colour. The last race in South Africa was what, twenty seven years ago, and I fail to see how that "especially" means Africa deserves a race especially as it was hardly a classic. There are much more safer, and more suitable, places Formula 1 could go to these days. Formula 1's roots are European and if one country deserves a race in my view its Finland considering the contributions drivers from that country have made to the history of the sport.

The old Kyalami was a proper classic Grand Prix track. It was trashed when it was rebuilt in the 90s for the two post-apartheid Grand Prix (92 & 93). The South African Grand Prix was one of the first flyaways outside of Europe and there some great races there in the 60s & 70s. Personally, I’d welcome seeing it take place again. Isn’t going to happen though; South Africa is near broke and there’s no commercial interest.

Finland I’m not sure about. Sure, it’s produced 3 ½ World Champions and plenty of other drivers, but it has near zero domestic racing culture. Maybe the new KymiRing will attract GT racing etc; it’s the only circuit that could be upgraded to take F1.

I do think you are right; F1 will return to its European roots. And one country that has made a disproportionate contribution to the history of F1 should get a second race; the UK. Scottish drivers have made a bigger contribution to the history of the sport than Finnish; why not a Scottish Grand Prix?

As a Scot I am not sure that Knockhill in the rain is going to win us any fans. And if it doesn't rain the midges will get you !! .. I would love to see a second race here in the UK though and Brands Hatch brought up to spec to host it. New Zealand should have a race as well in my view, McLaren were founded by a Kiwi whose team have gone to become the second most successful and Bruce was someone I think all Formula 1 fans admire.

I would also personally like to see Silverstone developed as a British driver academy and engineering apprenticeship centre. Its close to all the teams and while I don't agree with the way Lewis has said certain things I think he has a point in that certain demographics are under represented in Formula 1, and motor sport in general. I don't think that's down to any form of exclusion but more a general lack of interest. Britian is basically the home of Formula 1 and we need to nurture the talent we have here and get them interested in a sport we lead the world in at a young age.

I’d have to agree with your first sentence. Knockhill, as it stands, is also not suitable as an F1 circuit. A new one would have to be built somewhere, and I’m not sure there would be an economic case for it.

That's it. And I cannot see the current Government being supportive either.

A museum of Scottish motorsport might be a good addition though, Jim Clark and David Coulthard have their own ones and they are both pretty decent. Would be nice to have them all under one roof.

Seeing as we are finally going racing next week .. Anyone brave enough to take a guess on the results of the race next Sunday ??

I reckon Max first, Hamilton second, Bottas third. Red Bull Ring so I figure Red Bull will be up for it.

If the UK were to get another GP,I would love it to be on a 'real roads' circuit like the NW200.If they can race round Baku, they can race anywhere.
