Putting the morality aside, why do they do it? They must know they're going to get caught. It can't possibly be worth it.
Maybe it's not the grooming, the paedophilia, or the porn... perhaps it's the 'getting caught' they get off on. Kind of like danger wanking? Either way, there is something seriously wrong with some people!

probably they see it as a non crime, unless he actually meets her and tries it on. don't condone it but you do stumble over kiddy stuff out there which soon gets clicked off but still leaves a trace on your pc if you dont clean it properly.

there used to be a little txt file tucked away in windows which recorded every site ever visited on that pc.

I know a rather wierd mid 40s ex explorer scout leader who married last year - I did the maths though and he was seeing her when she was 14 but nobody seems to want to pickup on this simple obvious fact.

Using the Nightingale method of level of service versus nature of crime surely he should get off scot free?

There's a catch to answering that question.

I like this comment from the newspaper article:

"You would have thought he would have known this would blow up in his face. - MG Worcester. , Worcester, United Kingdom"

No, Wayne is not Royal Engineers, he was an RLC ammo tech.

I've known the guy for quite a few years and am a mate of his Dad. My brother sent me the local paper link last week and was pretty ****ing shocked to put it mildly. He was married and had a couple of kids so I was very suprised. Other than the victim (obviously) I have a huge amount of sympathy for his family because of the shame he's bought on them.

I concur- I hate the use of the word 'Hero' these days for someone who is just doing their job. The other thing that grates is nurses, teachers, etc 'on the frontline'. Its an insult to those that really are.

It's a predilection, they can't help themselves. The best of them learn to hide and never act on the fact they are peados and that they get their rocks off with children. The others just can't help themselves. They come from all walks of life as well, not just ageing celebrities. I was involved with Operation Ore, we were knicking all sorts Judges, teachers, coppers, benefit scroungers, the lot.
