  1. Hi all,

A calleague of mine is researching his family history, and has uncovered his fathers medal record card relating to his service in WW1. His father was awarded the British War Medal and The Victory Medal. However an entry in the Remarks column records the comment "Forfeit under 1236 R.W".

He's not alarmed to see this, as he is aware that his father was a bit of a bad boy, but he is interested as to whether that comment might give a clue as to the reason for the forefeiture.

Has anyone come across "1236 R.W" on a record card before, and if so do you know what it means ?
