Forces Ex-Servicemen & women to get free courses.

Soldiers, sailors and airmen leaving the Services are to be offered the chance to study for a qualification free of charge, it has been reported.

According to the News of the World, personnel who have completed six years service in the Army, Royal Navy or RAF will be eligible for the scheme.

Under the plan, the Government will pay their tuition fees to study for GCSEs, A-levels, university degrees or other qualifications.

The measure forms part of the Armed Forces Command Paper, due to be published on Thursday, dealing with a whole range of welfare issues affecting Service personnel.

Welcomed News. The US Military have had schemes like this ever since the end of WW2. But my questions is - Does this apply to any Ex-Service personnel who have completed 6 eyars or more, and does it apply to those who have been out of the Services for many, many years?

It wuold be interesting what the repsonse is. :p :?
Looks good, they look after the younger guys as they come through the system but there is not a great deal for the older generation, they seem to leave the army and get forgot about.
This is probably a good recruiting tool but not so good for retention.
