Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Hi all

I'm soon to be attending flying grading, so have searched the forum for some int and found some good info.

Most posts recommend learning you checks ASAP, Does anyone have any literature relating to the grob tutor (pre flight checks etc etc) that i could study before i attend grading?

    Thanks for any help

  2. No. The FRCs for the aircraft (Grob or Firefly - thought it was the latter) will not necessarily match the published ones on a website. If you are planning on rote learning of the checks, make sure you have the right ones or you are actually making things worse.
  3. One of the reasons they don't hand this out in advance, is that the very purpose of grading is to assess your ability to learn quickly.
  4. Echo both the above comments.

And the clue is in the name of the course - grading. If you tip up knowing lots of stuff, they'll just expect you to have an increasing gradient by the end. Peak early and you will fail.

Do what I did and start stupid and be ever so slightly less stupid by the end of 13 hours
