Flight of the Phoenix -1965

Having just edited the Wiki page relating to the Fairchild C-119 Flying Boxcar, I thought to take a look at some images and video clips from the 1965 film (the one with Jimmy Stewart, Richard Attenborough and Hardy Kruger).
The early flying and crash images show a C-119, but the plentiful shots of the aircraft lying in the sand, and gradually being dismembered are of the Fairchild C-82 Packet. The Boxcar was derived from the Packet, but the differences, particularly the position of the flight deck and windscreen, are very obvious.
Honestly I assumed it was just a 119 until reading this. Even my little nephew loves this movie
