Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Hi,
I've got my first Interview on Thursday and was wondering what type of questions I might be asked. Apologies if theres already a thousand threads on here about it, but I'd be grateful if anyone could help me out.

Also I had Tank crewman down as my first choice until I went in for my Barb. I scored 67 and my recruiter tried to talk me into going for something else. In the end I chose 'Command, Communications and information systems specialist'. Is there anyone on here who is currently doing this job or has in the past? Got a bit of information about it off the army website but can't seem to find much more.
  2. Try doing a search mate - because you're right, there are thousands of threads on this!

The main advice seems to be, relax, be yourself and be honest. Turn up 5 minutes early and dress smartly. They could ask you about your family and friends, social activities and school or work.

They will ask why you want to join the army, what your job choices are and why. They want to know what level of fitness you are, and what kind of training you are doing.

    Good luck
  3. Don't worry about the interview just be natural. At this stage they really do want to learn as much as they can about you so they can help you make the correct choices in your application, its not about trying to catch you out.

Dress smartly and don't be late. Other than that relax and make the most of the opportunity.

  4. Some fellow arrse punters know me to be a disgruntled, angry and unhelpful old fart, but really I am a very nice man, just do not light my blue touch paper.

Before I get on my high horse and start getting all grumpy, read all of this thread:

Happy reading and don't ask any more silly questions!
