Johnny Inverdale has been discussing "Gridiron" in the UK and the prospect of an NFL game being played at Wembley. Presumably with their helmets they would be ok in a hard hat area...

He also suggested whimsically that a future NFL franchise might be set up in the UK, perhaps (small titter..) the Old England Patriots. I myself think this would be a lovely idea but don't like his suggested name. How about the English Poodles, to reflect our current alignment with the forces of Shaved Chimpery??

NFL was tried in the UK about 10 years ago, as the septics thought we would adopt it and love it. A few teams where started within a league structure and it fell flat on its Arrse within a few months. Perhaps this is revenge for us sending them Beckham.
