Pakistan protected Osama for cash from ME country: report

ISLAMABAD: Osama bin Laden was protected by elements of Pakistan’s security apparatus in return for millions of dollars of cash from a Middle Eastern country, according to a controversial new account of the operation to kill the world’s most wanted man.

According to a report published in The Daily Telegraph, Raelynn Hillhouse, an American security analyst, claims his whereabouts were finally revealed when a Pakistani intelligence officer came forward to claim the $25 million bounty on the al-Qaeda leader’s head.

Her version, based on evidence from sources in what she calls the “intelligence community”, contradicts the official account that bin Laden was tracked down through his trusted courier. Pakistani officials have always denied that bin Laden was sheltered or that Islamabad had any knowledge of the secret mission that killed him.

But Dr Hillhouse, who is known for her links to private military contractors that work extensively with the CIA, says Pakistan gave permission for a covert mission which would then be covered up by claiming bin Laden had been killed in a drone strike.

“The [Inter-Services Intelligence] officer came forward to claim the substantial reward and to broker US citizenship for his family,” she writes on her intelligence blog, The Spy Who Billed Me.

1000s of Afghan civilians have been killed for the past ten years, and money being wasted on arming a Punjabi Pakistani Army to fight India, I think its time to consider taking a good look at the relationship Nato has with Pakistan.Dismantle the ISI for gods sake, its time to sanction Pakistan for its twisted double dealing.

Details I hadn't know before, and as it's in conflict with the offical line, details I was not meant to know.

Obviously the other posters had a scoop on this story.

I think the saying about reaping what you sow applies here. I know "Ifs" are a lost cause, but if the mickymouse people had not send Stingers and other help to Bin Laden and his mates, then perhaps this situation in that part of the world would not exist, or not be so potentialy severe. SU left Afghanistan in good order, and regime didn't fall until 3 years when Russia could no longer pay their bills. Everybody in West laughs at time, then 9/11, and mickymouse morons are "Oh please President Putin, please can we use your airbases, pretty please" They should have been told to **** off
