    Waiting for clearance to join TA, expecting to be in around 2 months. Started a seventy five mile hike with full pack through the mountains the other day to get a feel for my fitness level- more to get a fitness level, as I'm not fit. Had to quit after 25 miles/48 hours because my heels had turned into blisters and were on fire.

    Have Meindl Army Pro's which are well broken in, so it's not the boots.

    Any tips for blister recovery and avoidance for the next section of the trip, which will probabaly be in about a weeks time.

  2. Wear two pairs of socks and tape your feet up in the areas where you think your going to get blisters.

    As for blister recovery, pop them and squeeze all the pus out and leave them to heal, they should turn into calices which will toughen your feet up.
