Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Mine has to be Johnny Cash's cover of Hurt; the original Nine Inch Nails version was awful (in my opinion) and genuinly thought THEY had tried to cover Jonny Cash.

Anyone else got any favourite covers?

Multiple posts are okay as well as open discussion of course but please keep it civil
  2. You've just opened the door to the place that should not be opened.

Women will now be wailing on about this pair:

For the love of my ears NO!
  3. Gimme some Lovin' - Thunder originally by the Spencer Davis Group............CRACKIN!!
  4. All the Way from Memphis, Contraband (Schenker guitars). Bliss.

And Thunder? very much underrated and very accomplished albums.
  5. I wasn't aware Thunder had done a cover untill now
Not sure which I prefer though Blues Brothers Version or Thunder's
  6. Hit me baby one more time. Covered by Travis. They only did it for a laugh on Radio 1's 'Live Lounge' but it is excellent and a little bit tongue in cheek.
  7. The Isley Brothers cover of Twist and Shout. I can't remember who did it originally, but the Beatles did a cover and it sounded sorta lifeless.
  8. Anything By Gary Moore. Oops double posting, I'll get me coat..... 8O
  9. Ozzy & Randy with Paranoid, originally by Ozzy & Iommi.
  10. I've got to go for Manic Street Preachers version of "Take the Skinheads Bowling" by Camper Van Beethoven.

Also agree with Dinger on Metallica's cover of "Whiskey in the Jar"
