Famous People from the Corps

Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. It was recently brought to my attention that none other than James Bond himself (Sir Roger Moore) was a member of the Corps...

Do we have any other illustrious ex-members?

    Bernard Lewis I believe..
  2. Please try and keep up. This has been done at least once before. Including whiskeybreath's favourite MEP.

The editor of Private MI used to be quite a famous chap . The Drill Instructor from Bad Lads' Army is certainly famous. One of Bronski Beat is allegedly an ex member of the Corps.

CR is also quite well known, but I suppose that would go in the infamous people from the Corps thread.
  3. Where's the evidence for that one then? Winklepedia says that he was in the Royal Army Service Corps: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roger_Moore and then transferred to the "Entertainment Branch" - although I can see how that might be confused with the Corps....:)
  4. Is it not true?

Just goes to show Seniors don;t know everything ;)
  5. Geldof's an honoury member - I dink :p
  6. Pearly Spencer is another

I understand that a number of litterati from the Hay Book Festival may also be up for consideration by the board, along with SQUARE MILE.
