Erm, thought the Argies fired the first shots on the 2nd April, with a robust response from HM's Royal Marines, courtesy of NP8901? Otherwise, the UK would be accused of starting it.

I used to work with the "usually reserved sub-lieutenent Stewart Cooper"

Jolly nice chap indeed..he was the one who took the photo of the two crashed Wessex choppers on the glacier. If I remember, he was sent down there as official Navy photographer.
