Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. That looks a right mess. I'd be surprised if there were no casualties on the ground.
  2. Only one pilot it seems, and last count is three dead on the ground.

Seems he had one engine out and the other failing on him as he tried to make an emergency landing after being waved off an attempted carrier landing.
  3. 4 killed.Crash aircraft was a F/A-18D(2 seat aircraft, although with only 1 pilot on board at the time of crash).

Unit of crash aircraft was VMFAT-101,the USMC F/A-18 training squadron.

For the spotters the Bureau number of the crashed aircraft was 164017.
