Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Alright,

I am thinking about joining the RAF/RN as a fast jet pilot. However, i learned that even after having laser treatment to correct my eyesight, i would still be unable to join.

I was wondering, if i had laser treatment, but denied it, is there any way that they would find out?

    Cheers,

    Mick :cyclopsani:

  2. See here.

Unless, of course, you've already seen it.

  3. Thanks MG,

Unfortunately, this is not the answer i was hoping for, but again, thanks.

  4. Mick,
You may still be able to join the RAF in another aircrew capacity such as Weapons Systems Officer where there is often a little more flex. I know of several who were denied pilot due to eyesight but were accepted for nav (now WSO) trg. At least one of those subsequently made it onto Tornados.

Then again, just go for Netjets like everyone else and cut out the middle man!

Best of luck in whatever you go for!
