Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Count every ' F ' in the following text:

    FINISHED FILES ARE THE RE
    SULT OF YEARS OF SCIENTI
    FIC STUDY COMBINED WITH
    THE EXPERIENCE OF YEARS...

    HOW MANY ?

WRONG, THERE ARE 6 -- no joke.
    READ IT AGAIN !
Really, go Back and Try to find the 6 F's before you scroll down.

The reasoning behind is further down.
    The brain cannot process 'OF'.

Incredible or what? Go back and look again!!
Anyone who counts all 6 'F's' on the first go is a genius.

Three is normal, four is quite rare.

  2. Seen this before, and again, failed. Haha :)

  3. I'll just swiftly remove myself from the genius catagory then

I kept coming up with three until I scrolled down :x

Edited cos I can't even feckin spell now

  4. I’m not a genius, just a pedantic twat. I just moved the curser across the letters ignoring the words or context.

  5. Haha. I wish I had that idea. I still stand firmly that I am borderline genius ;) haha. I wish

  6. Got 4 myself...got the first OF then missed the next 2...doh :(

  7. Same.

  8. Fiendishly clever!

  9. I knew it was a trick and read it letter by letter. Does that make me a genius? :D

  10. Can't process "of"??.

Well F*** me, I must be a genius!! I honestly counted six "f"'s on my one and only reading.

I just counted along on my fingers as I did so mind you

  11. I'm used to proof-reading machine code but I only got 5. Which is worrying.
