Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Jack Straw has announced that an extra £10,000 should be given to all MPs to help them communicate with their constituents. The money is to come from the taxpayer and is expected to amount to around £4.5 million in total.

Critics have said it will just allow them to use the money for party purposes, allowing their respective parties to save funds and not really benefit local people and the issues concerning them.

Mr Straw felt it was value for money.

In the current climate with spending by HMG limited across the board, I don't feel this good value, do you?

I tried posting this twice with an opinion poll attached but kept mucking it up somehow, so not being a tecky you'll just have to post as normal
