Extinction Rebellion protesters - what to do?

Just reading the latest posts on this thread gave me a thought. We've bandied around the (alleged) political affiliations of the protestors, and while most of them will claim they are doing it for the future of the planet it could be reasonably argued that the tactics being displayed would tend to lean towards socialism / marxism.

What struck me is that those protesting are only capable of doing so because they have the safety and security of enough cash behind them not to have to work for a living! One clip I saw showed a bunch of obvious OAPs protesting, well I suppose it gets them out the house but you can guarantee their pensions will provide for them while they are out there.

There are no starving, homeless protestors out there.

Some of the Insulate protesters are unemployed, and say they live in fuel poverty.

One of them was interviewed on TalkRadio yesterday between 5 and 6pm.
He was on air for around ten minutes, and said he lived in fuel poverty due to being unemployed for 16 years.
As with all the other insulate protesters I’ve listened to he didn’t know any of the facts around how many homes have been insulated or how much governments have spent to insulate homes.

He did however use the exact same way to respond to questions as every other insulate protester Ive heard.
They say their own personal situation/life isn’t relevant to the protest (including if their home is insulated)
They ignore many questions and reply with “what I’m trying to say is” or “you don’t understand”
They quote the same ‘experts’, including one who is a member of Insulate.

Overall, and call me a cynic, but in answering questions and trying to avoid things they sound like Russian corrupt politicians.

No.
Also don’t try to confuse politicians in general with the specific way Russian politicians answer questions nowadays.

Normally I would laugh at a ‘FOC’ comment, but in this instance I was being specific. :)

That makes sense now I think about it.

No offence meant.

No offence taken, although I was about to scream "theres a perfect example of someone picking and choosing their words" because the two before your quote were "they claim".

However I agree, one of the things the majority of people either ignore or fail to understand is that the world is not a safe place to be in and everyone dies at some point. Not too long ago we (humans) were lucky to live to our 60's and the average male life expectancy was two years after pension age (think of it as a reward for a life of hard work, now off you go and pop your clogs and make space for someone else).

When we started messing about with safer lifestyles and better medicine and improved age care we threw the whole thing off balance. The thought now is "we must save grandma even though she just sits in her chair all day and doesn't really know what is happening around her" when back in the old days they used to leave them to die when they could no longer be productive.

One day the human race will come to an end, either suddenly (nuclear war / meteor strike / similar) or slowly fighting for resources. Get used to it.

After that some other lifeform will inherit the planet and evolve and grow to do whatever it thinks is best given the enviroment. Then it will get too cocky, think it can control nature and find out nature is bigger and meaner than it. I get a feeling this has happened before, but so long along all trace has been lost.
Sorry, I should've added the two words as you say. I was having a wee bevvy.

Isn't 16 years long enough to do a bit of research? And collect material out of skips to do your own insulation?

I guess they've all been coached/indoctrinated/brainwashed on what to say.

I wish someone would find out where these people live so they can be equally inconvenienced seeing as there doesn't currently seem to be any ramifications for their actions.

This ******* drip for instance:

But now worth up to £700k based on sold prices on the same road?!
He seems more concerned about Cressida Dick sending the Met than he does about answering questions.
I think he'd be the first to be screaming for police help if motorists were the only other people present.
Good to see the loon who glued himself to a passenger jet has been jailed.

Mike Harding used to do a story about some Manchester cops pushing a car plus driver across the bridge into Salford.

We did something similar with the corpses of suicides in a river, there was a bridge just upstream that was a favourite site for jumpers, about 5/6 every year, on the boundary of another Police district in the NRP. They got very smelly quickly, so if one was found and reported to our district first, we raced out to it, found a long stick & pushed it over to the other bank, then called the other district on the radio, making sure we stayed on site until they had removed it or they would push it back!
Bearing in mind that someone from that district would also have to attend the horrificly smelly autopsy asI recounted in my thread on the NRP.

I believe someone has.

Mibbies it does, mibbies it disnae. Just suppose you and your mates were to plod (pun, not an insult) when you were processing those rapscallions. You'd be overwhelmed even sooner. This would mean you'd be unable to police their next target. Bingo! Train roof dancing converts to road dancing, with hopefully the same result. ;) Job jobbed.

My bold .. Probably the most practical solution, after all it would be the "will of the people", and I'm sure that having severe pain/broken bones inflicted on them by angry drivers, would discourage other would be XR muppets from p**sing off commuters that have to use their vehicles to get to or for work!

I'm assuming they did the same to you if they found one on their side?

How did you know that they were suicides? You could have been failing to correctly deal with a murder?

Watch this from the one hour point.
You can judge for yourself :)

An 18v chain saw would soon unglue any hippies stuck to the road, straight though the elbow would save nasty solvents & prolong battery life ?

I was chatting to a chap from a council waste department. A river seperated them from their neighbouring authority. He reckoned many fallen farm animals made their way downstream more quickly because they were shunted on by the staff on each side when reported to them.

yeah, **** the coast guard...

Unless its washed completely out to sea it's still someones problem. Most if not all of those carcasses would end up on a beach where the relevant authority has no choice but to recover and dispose of it. Even whale caracasses have to be disposed of in landfill apparently.

If you've ever tried to examine a corpse that has been badly damaged by a fall into a very fast flowing river through a sharp rock lined set of rapids and then had the odd croc or two rip bits off, then the odd fish have a nibble and been around for several days in tropical temperatures and rotted, no one in their right minds enjoyed it, hence trying to ensure the other district did the forensic edxamination.
And yes we all agreed it was the ideal spot to dump a murdered body as unless it had been shot, leaving a bullet in it, it would be almost impossible to determine a murder. Also as this was about 10 miles from each town, the suicide had almost always parked their car nearby, which made identification a bit easier and checking with the family/friends often showed some depression/mental instability prior to the event!
