Just reading the latest posts on this thread gave me a thought. We've bandied around the (alleged) political affiliations of the protestors, and while most of them will claim they are doing it for the future of the planet it could be reasonably argued that the tactics being displayed would tend to lean towards socialism / marxism.
What struck me is that those protesting are only capable of doing so because they have the safety and security of enough cash behind them not to have to work for a living! One clip I saw showed a bunch of obvious OAPs protesting, well I suppose it gets them out the house but you can guarantee their pensions will provide for them while they are out there.
There are no starving, homeless protestors out there.
Some of the Insulate protesters are unemployed, and say they live in fuel poverty.
One of them was interviewed on TalkRadio yesterday between 5 and 6pm.
He was on air for around ten minutes, and said he lived in fuel poverty due to being unemployed for 16 years.
As with all the other insulate protesters I’ve listened to he didn’t know any of the facts around how many homes have been insulated or how much governments have spent to insulate homes.
He did however use the exact same way to respond to questions as every other insulate protester Ive heard.
They say their own personal situation/life isn’t relevant to the protest (including if their home is insulated)
They ignore many questions and reply with “what I’m trying to say is” or “you don’t understand”
They quote the same ‘experts’, including one who is a member of Insulate.
Overall, and call me a cynic, but in answering questions and trying to avoid things they sound like Russian corrupt politicians.
