Extinction Rebellion protesters - what to do?

Why report them as being "on the M25," then? As far as I know, once you cross that Give Way line at the top (or bottom, depending on arrangement) of the slip road you're off the motorway and outside the regulated zone. Lying media twats.

By the by, if they're on the sliproads then they're subject to motorway regulations, I presume, and the same applies. If they're on the roundabout then they should try not to trample the grass.

Yes, there used to be signs on slip roads saying "Start of Motorway, no tractors, mopeds, horse-drawn vehicles etc, beyond this point". They went years ago, but there must still be an official start point for the Motorway.

Maybe the unwashed know about this and chose their spot carefully.

I don't think there's any dispute that Ziegler doesn't apply here anyway and therefore obstruction would apply, the Met and Surrey dragged them off one of the junctions pretty quickly. I heard the group had started gluing themselves too, but that's definitely hearsay - don't know for certain.
Now that'd make the sjambokking a great spectator sport.
Their legs would be running away, their hands not releasing and the bewildered look of "WTF did I do this ?" would be worth a slot on Funniest Home Videos.

To my simple way of dealing with things, the solution is for parliament to introduce a jaywalking law…….job jobbed.

Infringement on their right to lawfully protest ?

Infringement on their right to lawfully protest ?

Protesting and jaywalking are entirely different.
Protest all you like, but do it on the pavement, OR where a pre arranged route has been agreed :)

If they were holding me up the law being an infringement of their "right to lawful protest" would be the last of their worries. Prominent amongst them would be the 1200kg of moving metal accelerating rapidly towards them, I should think.

They've already had clowns tell them it's their right to block the road in protest, if you prevent them from doing so it must be an infringement of that right.

Devil's advocate here.

I'm surprised that people haven't taken extreme measures regarding these muppets , however, if the nonsense starts again tomorrow then there well might be repercussions from the public however much the group feel they have a right to protest .

They're on the roundabouts / slip roads above the motorways, which isn't the same as being on the motorway proper.
In the report about the four vehicle accident there today they appear to be on the carriageway proper.

If only they'd pulled their stunt stopping this guy getting to Finsbury Park.

Imagine if Boris or any member of royalty was on their way somewhere important would the police have the same “leave them to it” attitude?
Question, do they still have convoys of green lorries, escorted by green vehicles that look like fire engines, and green transit vans with blacked out windows around the M25? Bet they wouldn't stop for no "steenkin' protesters...."

I was once quizzed by a CND type of how close I'd ever come to a nuclear bomb, I replied with a relatively small distance and when questioned further about the location I responded with 'the middle lane of the M25..."

We don't currently have a jaywalking law.

Then introducing one would also inhibit the supreme court sanctioned method these clowns choose to protest.

A little bit more detail here from the ES.

Just for a laugh:

President of motoring insurance group AA, Edmund King, said that during the last Insulate Britain blockade, a thermal insulation engineer was prevented from going to work after being stuck in the traffic queue.

"It is somewhat ironic that thermal insulation engineers trying to insulate Britain were stuck in the congestion caused by Insulate Britain.

And not for a laugh:

A 50-year-old woman had to be airlifted to hospital after suffering serious injuries in the pile-up.

Can Insulate Britain be held responsible for the accident by the insurance companies ?

Richard Madeley quizzed one of the smug t***s on telly yesterday, it's on YT. Madeley was clearly fuming and asked the smug git, what would he say to the wife of a man who had a heart attack and died while stuck in the protest hypothetically. Smug git says "sue the government".

All rights, no responsibility. Usual arrogance.
