Scenario: Friend lives a an old, stonewalled house. Wireless signal does not travel from one end of the house to the other.

Proposed solution: using ethernet over powerline, connect the Netgear DG834G to a Netgear WGR614 and place the WGR614 at the other end of the house.

Is this workable and if so, how to configure the WGR614 to allow him to carry his laptop from one room to another maintaining connectivity?

  4. I had a similar problem. My son sorted it but I'm not sure how. Choices were get a stronger hub or another hub that was put in about half way - sort of rebro. Hub A talks to hub B and laptop never goes out of range. I ask my lad but he is a long way away at the moment and quite busy so don't hold your breath. I spoke to local PC World before him and they seemed knowledgeable.
