Explosions in Madrid

Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Reuters is reporting 3-4 explosions in Madrid after threats were made to a radio station. Explosions were at gas stations and no fatalities have been reported. ETA claims responsibility.
  2. CNN is reporting the same.
  3. Wait Out

Only got the scrolling new news bar on BBC at the moment

Hopefully nothing as bad as the last lot :( :( :(
  4. Fatalities or not, the bombers are lower than whale sh1t.

    From Corporal's CNN link

And downtrodden noble glorious freedom fighters with every right to blow people up by far too many scum who don't even live in Spain.

    Lest there was any doubt!

Typical of CNN not to get it right...

ETA is considered a terrorist group in most of spain (e.g. not the bit its fighting for)

Easy Mr Happy. To be fair to CNN, "by Spain" alludes to the Spanish Government’s categorisation of ETA, not the geo/lingo/depth of tan/height up a mountain criteria.

CNN's stating of the obvious :
should have been supported by a brief geography lesson for the audience at home, as in:

show them where Spain is! :D

Hope there are still no casualties.

There was a CNN map published a longtime back showing Germany labelled as Poland and Switzerland as Germany. It was around 9/11 and they were attempting to educate as you've said....

    who teaches the teachers?
