Explosions in Cheshire

Breaking news it seems - from Sky News:

There have been a series of controlled explosions at a service station in Chester, it has been reported.

The M56 has been closed in both directions between junctions 12 and 14.

Police have cordoned off the area around the Hapsford services to deal with a single suspicious vehicle.

Interesting, as that is my current locstat. There were people here discussing this as they were in very close proximity at the time. I however was on my way to the opposite direction. Shall listen in to what they know and report back.

I do know there is a heavily increased presence in the local area. Unsurprising.

OK it seems, without compromising anything I believe, that there was a vehicle left unattended... a lorry... for a good amount of time in the petrol station. The police/authorities have exploded it in case of a threat to the nearby petrol refinery. This is however only what I've been told second hand.
