Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Gentlemen,

I have recently arrived in Kabul to work for an NGO (expat colleagues French and Italians). I am a bit vague here as I was taught to be cautious.

I was a UOTC OCDT many years ago and would love to hear from any compatriates as I am suffering from touch of culture shock. I was up at massar on wednesday (two blocks from the blue mosque) which made the old stiff upper lip quibble a bit.

Anyway it would be great to hear from anybody also based here.

    Cheers

  2. I don't think that there's a Lodge in Kabul. There might be, but it's more than likely housing some goats or donkeys now.

  3. Also not a great idea to be talking about/to people in certain areas on an open forum. It only takes one slip up and BOOM!

Joking aside, becareful what you say and to whom you say it.

  4. And of course..... 'Where you tread'

  5. Understood but pm much appreciated

  6. Thanks for the responses, at the time, they were very helpful and a credit to your respective regiments.

    Good on you! (Collectively)

  7. You are an asset to the craft mate!

  8. There's a Hash in Kabul, google them. They meet on Friday afternoon.
I left Kabul in march or we could meet up for a pint.
