Excess leave at end of year

Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. What is the disciplinary procedure/situation for soldiers left with large amounts of leave come the end of the year?

I have 36 days leave remaining, I am about to finish an operational detachment to Northern Ireland that includes POTL, which I have been denied, and have been denied 5 leave applications over the last year.

I am told there is some kind of disciplinary consequence, but who for? Troopy? OC? CO? Or other? And what does it entail?

It is extremely frustrating have no time off, but the CoC have been between a rock and hard place due to undermanning and lazy chancers who weasel out of any and every tour/course/detachment.

  2. Strange have you read the JSP regarding Leave?

  3. I would but have no access to it

  4. Letter to the CO, via your OC.

I'd be more helpful, but I read my SJAR yesterday, and it's wank, so I might give up being helpful for a bit.

  5. I don't wish to make a complaint!

I am just interested in the consequences for the CoC, when really they have had little option.

If it highlights how undermanned for deployable, suitably qualified soldiers we are though, it will be worth it.

  6. Tell your dad, he's probably the only one interested. You'll get fuck all sense from anyone else.

  7. I take it you're a clerk then The_Snail.

An in all seriousness, you need to apply for your leave to be carried over to next years entitlement. 15 days is carried automatically, anything over that needs to be applied for with justification. If you've been deployed, and had leave denied, you will need copies and evidence that this is the case, your leave will then be carried over to (hopefully) be taken in the next leave year.

Your clerk (HR whatever) will be able to assist. Unless Snail happens to be your clerk, in which case you're fucked.

  12. He could always PM me his details, so I could fuck his pay up as well.

Gosh, I'm in a good mood this morning. Could someone fetch me some naked firemen please? That might cheer me up.
