I've just been to vote in the EU elections. I was surprised at the number of joke parties that are involved in the SE Constituency:

Christian Party "Proclaiming Christ's Lordship"

The Labour Party

The Peace Party - Non-Violence, Justice, Environment

The Roman Party. Ave!

There are also a significant number of harmless no hope nutter parties:

English Democrats

Jury Team

No2EU: Yes to Democracy

Pro Democracy: Libertas.eu

Socialist Labour Party

The Green Party

United Kingdom First

United Kingdom Ind

Unfortunately the BNP scum are on there as well. Hopefully they will not get many votes.

Had these... what so special about Cornwall?
I think 'special' might be the answer you are after.

I believe the correct spelling, in this context, is "speshul".

Check out the shape of the guy's head:

Least he has 2 eyes in roughly the right place, not so common in Cornwall......
Ask him if he has a tail (would confirm he is a local boy).

The Peace Party look somewhat 'special' too.

Editing to add. I am trying to add an image on here and for some reason it won't let me.

This Lot who were top of the list caused me to guffaw loudly in my polling booth when I first unfolded the scroll that was my ballot paper.

As a side note there have been hundreds of complaints as the officials have been folding the huge ballot papers so 'efficiently' that people haven't been able to find their candidate. Here they were thinking that their ballot paper was only 9 ft long when infact it was 12 ft. Outrageous!

Irritating god awful accent as well. I don't think I've ever met anyone from Cornwall that I didn't have an overwhelming desire to mow down with my car.

From their Wiki entry:

"So Macho" and the Gay Community

James George Hargreaves (party leader), whilst a DJ in London who shared a flat with his gay song-writing partner, wrote the gay anthem "So Macho" which was a hit in gay clubs in the United Kingdom in 1986.[11] Hargreaves' financial ability to launch a political party, therefore, is partly the product of support from the gay scene of the time. Since his policies include elements of opposition to gay rights, it was reported that he had to "deny allegations of double standards" in relation to this; he pointed out that his campaign was not against all homosexuals, and that he had not held the same religious beliefs when he wrote the song.
The only thing that would be better than this would be finding out Nick Griffin's grandpa was a Bangladeshi waiter. :D

Fro the Peace party's Aims...

" Enhancing the intrinsic harmony and inter-connectedness of people with their natural and man-made surroundings"

Anyone know what that means?
Am I supposed to 'inter-connect' with a tree?

:? :? :?
