Entitlement to Free School Meals

Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. This may be a stupid question, but do any serving personnel get free school meals for their kids?

"You will qualify for free school meals if you or your partner are receiving:

    a. Income Support (IS)

    b. Income Based Job Seekers Allowance (IB JSA)

    c. Child Tax Credit (CTC), provided you do not also receive Working Tax Credit and have an annual income, as assessed by the Inland Revenue, that does not exceed £14,155 or a Letter of Support under Part V1 of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999"
  2. And another follow up question; if someone goes to MCTC, I take it they wouldn't get normal pay while in custody and would fall below the 14K threshold.
  3. Eat Less
  4. FF, these questions are what your units Welfare Office was set up for.
