Good article in the Daily Mail (didn't buy it, a copy was in the office) 'A homage to the real heroes' about the English Rugby squad visiting the Somme and laying a wreath. The captain, Phil Vickery said the experince was, 'frightening, inspiring'. Not half as frightening as being there obviously.

Article also spoke of the great work the Commonwealth War graves do. Altogether, a positive article bridging sport and respectful remembrance and placing the adulation given to sports stars in persepctive. Well done the England team for giving a lead to the other home nations.

I won't put any money on the Irish Team making a similar visit to remember the thousands of their countrymen who perished.
