It seems to be good news day. In Nov last year a group called No Dash For Gas occupied West Burton Power Station shutting it down for 8 days. You can see them at it here. Lovely middle class accents, terribly well dressed, nice new motors.... sort of brings the irritating Dale Farm protesters to mind?

Owners EDF were so amused by the antics of these Rah Muppets they have decided to commemorate the event. By suing them for £5 million. I fear Daddy will not be pleased. Full story here. Let the messages of outrage and support begin...

BBC News - West Burton power station: EDF to sue protesters

A statement on the No Dash for Gas website reads: "EDF has launched a civil claim for damages against the group and associated activists for costs the company claims to have incurred, a figure it puts at £5m.
"Should the claim succeed, several of the campaigners face losing their homes, and all could face bankruptcy or be forced to pay a percentage of their salaries to EDF for decades to come."

Just for pointing at a map with her finger when she had a perfectly suitable pen ALREADY in her hand I'm apoplectic with rage.

HA HA HA..bloody priceless. If (daddy)they can't afford the fine , maybe they could work it off.
Maybe they could be employed Whale hunting or seal culling.

The ****-Muppetry on their FB site is priceless. Spare a thought for 'performance poet' Danny Chivers. Crowing about his first performance up a chimney in November. Facing the loss of his X-Box, plasma TV and some of Daddys fields today...

Henry Twigger's another ignorant grunt. Student loans cannot be included in bankruptcy nor court fines.

The Glory of this is it's not the permanently unemployable-jump-on-any-bandwagon-we-can type protesters, these are Middle Class (obviously with too much time on their hands) The Company wont go after crusties because there is no prospect of getting any dosh from them, but roll up in your Range Rover (nice VRM for the Bailifs to write down) or not notice that a Bailiff has followed you home (and got your address) and surprise, surprise, you find playing with the Big Boys has a price. In this case it's 5 big ones. Let the tedious, socialist weeping, wailing and knashing of expensively polished teeth begin. Serves them ******* right!

Guys! Show some solidarity... don't you remember the Nottingham city centre problems where BugzDaMick and his fellow compatriots ate lentils, cashed their Giros and bleated when someone from REME smothered one of their Golfs or Volvos with a Kebab? zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Remember, the appeasement and accomodation of these idiots and others like them, is the reason the lights will be going out in about 5 years.

Good point.

If our leaders had the guts to order nuclear power stations twenty years ago maybe the lights wouldn't be going out.

Notice the propaganda in the facebook page highlighted by TiD. They refer to them as 'Chimneys' (Dirty, CO2 spewing things, killing the environment) when, in fact, they are Cooling Towers that merely emit steam.

There was an Article in another paper some months ago about some Dappy who had (presumably) just dropped Tarquin and Selina at School and, on a pure whim, decided to stop off at the protest as she drove by in her gas guzzling 4X4 and show some 'solidarity' with the ecoloons by lying down underneath a cement mixer which was then obviously immobilised. She was 'distraught' when she saw Bailiffs taking photos of her and, later, was the first to get the good news, via the Royal Mail, that EDF were not best impressed and would be seeking financial retribution. I bet she had a very interesting conversation with her Husband at Dinner THAT night!

No need to worry. Spotiswoad here has the answer. Wind. Just not anywhere near Mater and Paters spread. Or anywhere there are newts. Or a view. Or hills, woods and streams. **** me, Middlesbrough is going to see some action if they get their way.
