Leo Kessler? The same Leo Kessler, aka Charles Whiting (deceased) whose war porn writing style made Sven Hassel look like Dostoyevsky?

24 Sep is a book by Leo Kessler, aka Charles Whiting, died 2007 (coincidentally I notice there is a Whiting book under his own name, 10 Sep).

His war porn writing style made Hassel look like a classic.

I have a history of awarding zero mushroomheads (for that thing you sent about the Septic in Derry). I wouldn't put Whiting as quite that bad, but if I were reviewing his books now, he'd have a glass ceiling well below what Hassel might achieve.

Ah, I see. Endeavour have made a business of taking out of print books, fiction and fact, and turning them into ebooks. Many of its authors are no longer with us!

As to Leo Kessler aka CW, he helped me pass a few boring hours on guard or lying on my pit. At the time literary genius was not high on my reading priorities.

Curse you @Auld-Yin. My googling brought up Sven Hassel and reports he died in 2012. No I really don't care that much but I'd have thought something would have been made on Arrse, after all, all those of us of a certain age used the works of Sven Hassel as training manuals.

;)

You've just reminded me that when the crappy lappy got fixed, it deleted everything, and I mean EVERYTHING, so I've got to download all my books again.

I may be back next year sometime.

Just the 5 swizzed today.

Is there any way to just swoosh them all onto my hard drive? I tried the other day, but it would only let me do 10 at a time and they went into the ether somewhere and I really can't be bothered doing that 19 times. That Sherlock Holmes book really, really wants me to read it.

Yours eye,
