    Our client with a large modern facility in the Bristol area is the leading European aircraft manufacturer working on some very exciting programmes for present and future aircraft. The requirement is for an experienced Systems Engineer (Landing Gear) qualified to Degree (or equivalent) level in a appropriate engineering discipline to join the Landing Gear Extension/Retraction Group to deliver solutions in that field.

    The Systems Engineer (Landing Gear) will be working on a complex system that controls hydraulically powered retraction and extension of the landing gears with an independent emergency extension system. The control and monitoring of the system is incorporated within integrated modular avionics architecture.

    The successful Systems Engineer (Landing Gear) will have some experience in the following skill sets –Design and integration of complex systems incorporating mechanical, hydraulic and electronic control elements
    Integration of Aircraft Systems with key Aircraft resources such as FWS, CDS, ACMS
    Avionics (hardware/software) and control systems definition, design and testing
    Specification and integration of safety critical systems and equipment
    Modelling and simulation of real time control systems
    Working with systems and equipment suppliers
    Qualification and certification of complex systems
    Support of system integration test rig activity
    Regulatory, safety, reliability, maintainability and particular risk requirements

    Overall, the successful candidate will require good level of engineering, communication and inter-personal skills and a proactive approach to problem solving.
