Electronic project kit

#1
Fancy getting myself an electronics project kit to fill up some free time....and just get a better understanding of electronics. Most kits seemed to be targeted towards kids but did find this kit from RadioShack. Are there any others that can be recommended?

Cheers

Velleman strongly seconded. I've got one of their USB interface kits (and a few others IO devices/boards) controlling the pan/tilt CCTV camera head, and other ports controlling lights in the house, all controllable over the internet by IOS devices (except I'm taking all that shite apart now ready for renting the house out).

On the simpler end, the boys and I put together a voice changer, infra red beam alarms, a water level alarms, an electronic christmas tree and a few other things I can't recall right now
