    One of the world’s leading defence contractors requires experienced Electricians / Electrical Engineers to work on containerised units being deployed on to military bases in Afghanistan.

    The successful Electrician / Electrical Engineer will be expected to deploy onto military bases in Afghanistan twice per year. Each deployment will last 14 weeks and then you will be based on the clients site in the UK for the next 14 weeks.

    The successful electrician will be responsible for:

    • Planning of scheduled maintenance tasks
    • Compilation of Support Planning/maintenance Logs
    • Reporting and progress on scheduled and non-scheduled maintenance tasks to management
    • Configuration management
    • Preventative and corrective maintenance of in theatre and UK electrical systems
    • Electrical safety checks and IEEE certification of electrical distribution system
    • Check of power fail over operation and correct function of UPS
    • Preventative and corrective maintenance of alarm system (smoke, PIR, Door entry, Mast tilt)
    • Embodiment of electrical and alarm system modifications
    • Preventative and corrective maintenance of in theatre and UK container and associated mast.
    • Carry out Professional Appraisal (PA) of the in theatre and UK mast in accordance with guidance
    • Re-certification of mast winches – By exchange
    • Re-certification of mini winches – By exchange
    • Embodiment of modifications as and when required
    • Erection and maintenance of mast – Training provided

    The successful electrician / electrical engineer must have:

    • You must currently hold a valid SC level clearance
    • 17th Edition qualified and be able to recertify electrical circuits
    • City and Guilds 2391: Inspection and Testing
    • Experience of working in the military or remote sites
