Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Just looking for some basic information regarding education while in the army. No final decison has been made about which regiment I will be joining. But having had a quick search through the forum, I haven't came across anything that would lead me to believe that I can do studies while in the army.

Basically my question, is it possible to study while in the army, i.e do sports science courses in which would lead me down the line to become a PE teacher?

    Thanks for any responses.
  2. Basically yes.
    Practically no.
  3. Yes, you just have be disciplined enough to spend your time studying rather than going out on the piss.

Although you should probably look into who offers a correspondence sports science degree.
  4. I second what Amazing_Lobster says.

I know plenty of people who've worked towards Open University degrees whilst serving and have managed to continue their studies whilst being deployed on tour etc
