ECJ rules that Working Time Directive applies to all Armed Forces in EU

Yesterday morning my Son in Law (RAF Loadie) had his Leave rudely interrupted with a " Come in for a briefing - you are going to xxxx tomorrow via xxxx and will be back in 5- 10 days "

Ha ha - get some ! and stay safe obvs.

Shouldn’t that be 5 stars?

We have the independence to change them.

Many people hoped that BREXIT would cause British politicians to up their game, but is there any sign of the political will to make big decisions with a view to the long term? There are limited signs that there is now a willingness to protect certain key suppliers such as Sheffield Forgemasters but is it too little too late?

Not too little too late, it's just going to take a long time to turn the ship around after the EU has had its hand on the tiller for so long. As time goes by people will get used to the idea and grow in confidence that we do have more control over our own destiny but you have to start somewhere and everything won't happen overnight.

We will need politicians who are capable of strategic thinking as opposed to short term monetarism. So many important companies and industries have been left to wither because of a hands off policy.

Consider the subsidies given to shipyards in EU nations, or the way the likes of Cameron and Osborne welcomed Chinese investment in our national infrastructure.
