eating late after training?

I regularly attend boxing at 7pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays, finishing at 9pm.
I know you’re not supposed to eat after about 8pm and I usually don't but I also know protein is needed to re-build the muscles. These sessions are seriously hard work and I am curious to know whether or not I should be eating afterwards (at 9pm).
Today I had about a handful of pasta and a whole tin of tuna, bloody horrible, but little carbs and lots of protein. I used to drink a protein drink after my sessions, would this be the best idea?

I used to work in a gym & would finish at 10pm in the evening. I used to get home about 10.30 & eat. To be honest i dont think there is much wrong with it. Maybe just dont eat as much as you would normally. I think Protein shakes sound like the best option! I reckon it comes down to persoanl preference & if your not doing that everyday of the week it shouldnt be a problem!
