The heart of the site is the forum area, including:
Anyone with or has been with them? Was thinking of joining after my four years?
The emergency services aren't as eay to get into as you think...
Becoming a paramedic isn't particularly insurmountable: it's mainly about qualifications though. Most places will ask for 250-280 UCAS points, and you'll need to get some experience in a care environment. Auxiliary nursing is a good one, and getting involved with the Community Responder scheme is another. Fees are of course now £9,000 a year thanks to the ***** in power. This can be borrowed and the usual system of grants etc is available.
East Sussex F&R website says no vacancies at the moment but the retained types are in vogue still.
I wouldn't get your hopes up about joining any blue light organisation other than as a volunteer for a few years.
