Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Over the last 2 days I have received a couple of unusual notifications as below. No link is available unless by copy and paste. Is this intentional?

Dear donmac, Ben_surfsup has just replied to a thread you have subscribed to entitled - Random photo's - in the Photography forum of The Army Rumour Service. This thread is located at: http://www.arrse.co.uk/photography/172935-random-photos-new-post.html Here is the message that has just been posted: ***************Video Introduction to Digital Photography – Part 1thats a link to a video series on the basics, also Part 2, 3 and the rest of that site (only the free articles) are well worth a read. some of the more in-depth stuff, like hyper-focal distance can make a huge difference to your images :) A couple of mine :) Image: http://i973.photobucket.com/albums/ae219/benuk/12.jpg Image: http://i973.photobucket.com/albums/ae219/benuk/11.jpg *************** There may also be other replies, but you will not receive any more notifications until you visit the forum again. Thanks for the feedback on this. Really appreciated and now sorted.
  6. Thanks Good CO
  7. Thanks GCO.
  8. They seem to have stopped again.

  9. Cabana-

For what it is worth, I just got notified of your post.
  10. Oh, thats odd. My email provider changed my IP address (but promised the old one would remain for a week) and I updated the DNS records. I thought it was all sorted because I started receiving the usual spams and some tests I did worked. I retract my report and shall see whats happened with my email.

  11. Got notified of this post too. I some areas I might offer advice. As to setting up email, etc, I would be no help at all. When I got new computer and wireless I had to have Apple support walk me through it. (good thing is Apple support was in Newfoundland, not Mumbai, easier accent to deal with)
  12. Thanks David. I think this is just a DNS issue. I updated my DNS on Friday evening and it can take up to 48 hours to propagate, but I suppose it can take longer.

You should have talked to the ARRSE computer support team, we would have solved your problems ;-)
  13. me too.

Since this morning I am only receiving the odd one or two email notifications, instead of all the threads I am tied up with. Funny? No? Then why is it happening please?
  15. I spoke to soon. emails have now stopped to me. Either that or a zombie invasion has killed off the entire UK.
