    "Why are you going to Afghanistan? Are your guys coming to back ours up?"

  12. I'm only a wife, but have been asked, when speaking about a friend based in Germany "Are we still at war with Germany then?"

    Also, when mentioning my husband was going on tour "Oh, so you will be moving to Afghanistan with him then?"

    And this one I get all the time - "Well at least you don't need to worry about your husband, he's only in the Royal Engineers, it's not as if they ever do anything dangerous"

  14. Used to deliver to an APO in Brunsum got asked by a septic civi who was trying to give me some classmatt if we knew the addressee of the time as her son was on board that ship. The fact that I was in a different uniform and didn't have an American accent was lost on her
