Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Just a quick rack of everyones brains, what the proper drill command for getting someone to take a pace rearward?

  2. "Can you just move back a bit....? Cheers"

  3. A quick flick with a pace stick in the right direction will have the desired effect.

    Hope this helps.

  7. Perhaps a bit random but where dowes the command; "one pace, left close, March!" come into things, is that for simply getting an individual or a formed body of men to move one pace to the left?

  8. Amazingly yes, who would have thought it eh?

  9. Try

ABOUT TURN; ONE PACE, FORWARD, MARCH; ABOUT TURN

    or perhaps

LEFT TURN; ONE PACE, LEFT CLOSE, MARCH; RIGHT TURN

  10. Or to move a body of men away from weapons on the ground
