Downton Abbey - Pervert's Dream?

#1
Evening,

I've just started watching this and now I've got a bit of a historical costume fetish, I think the birds in Edwardian outfits look way sexier than the orange skinned slags of today:

Even the maid's outfit gives me the horn:

And the nurse

Now the thing is, on series 1, episode 2. Some Turkish chap turns up and I swear he bums Lady Mary:

"Sex whilst preserving her virginity." The dirty fekker. That's gotta be anal?

Anyone else want to crack one off over this or is it just me?

You're in 'Lady Chatterley's Lover' territory here, although in your version Mellors gets to bone all three of the posh totty sisters and maybe do some of the maids as well.

That is perfectly normal.

If on the other hand you had been thinking of fisting Dame Maggie Smith whilst she was lezzing off with Shirley MacLaine, though, I would probably recommend either psychiatric help or suicide.

Surely there's a massive porn opportunity here though? I don't think I've ever seen an Edwardian sex flic. Might be a gap in the market.

Stop right there ,you perv. My Granny was one of those maids and nurse of those days. The idea of some "chap" interfering with her fills me with revulsion and errr Hang on, I`m here aren`t I. Must give this some thought.

Does she still have the uniform?

If so your nan would get it.

Definately the maids would get it! And the horsey bird, oh and that posh bint on the sofa, and... oh, fek it, give me a time machine and a sack of rubbers

One must also remember that most of the kit that the fillys wore back then gave easy access for back scuttling, so I'm guessing they were more than up for it!

Just to be pedantic, Edward VII died in 1910. Downton Abbey is set in the period 1912 - 1920, not quite Edwardian. But yes they are quite sexy, the women at least.

Why the rubbers? Just take some antibiotics they'll clear anything around in that time. Happy days.

According to my g/f the one playing the blonde maid was seeing her older brother some years ago for a bit. She's from the area & he's a massive rugby player/MMA fighter who's always had his pick of the birds so I suppose it could be plausible. Wonder if I can coax any sordid details out of him...

How would you describe the fashion then? That's so 1912s darling!

Post Edwardian pre WW1 ? .... you could probably class the first series as belle époque fashion and I don't think Edwardian is incorrect as style hadn't changed radically in the 2 years since Edward VII's death.

The first series ends in 1914 so the customes are probaby late Edwardian. The mum and granny definitely seem to wear that fashion (lots of fabric all the way up to the neck). The girls wear "empire frocks" most of the time (series 1 anyway).

Yep, belle époque, Edwardian heading for art nouveau styling.

Ooops, a bit big. Google Alphonse Mucha images:
