Bruno Ganz stars as Adolf in the last days in the bunker.....a must-see for all those ARRSERS with thinly disguised Waffen SS recruiting posters in their sig blocks.....billed as ' has a happy ending....'

...and yes I'm taping it ....so nobody spoil it by telling me what happens in the end....

It really is a great film, hope you can read as it is in German with subtitles!
I should hope so too, it would ruin the film if it was dubbed into English.

Have you ever seen the dubbed version of 'Das Boot'?

Made an excellent film into an embarassment.

Thats just plain wrong - the film could never work without that fantastic cry of "ALAARRMM" every few minutes.

As for Downfall, incredible film, but I'm a bit confused about the spoiler above - I always thought that the Americans took him prisoner when they sucessfully invaded Berlin in 1945? :?

Das boot is one of my all time favourite films - I downloaded the soundtrack... AWESOME  !!!

But before I get my coat, I'll just add that you should never try to watch a film like downfall with the missus. After frequent sighs, and 'how long is this film?' repeated over and over again, you either kill yourself, or her, or both.

yeah ive got stalingrad on dvd brilliant film it really helps when they use the right fecking tanks as well
Well, nearly the right tanks. They used the T-34/85, probably from postwar production, whereas in 1943 you'd have expected to see one of the many T-34/76 variants. Of course they're very rare now as the vast majority got destroyed.

But still an awesome film.

Ganz should have got an Oscar for his performance, truly awesome film. Das Boot another classic, can firmly recommend the book too.

As for ruining plots, if you haven't seen Titanic yet.... It sinks.

Congratulations O_O_T_S!

You win my special spotter of the week award, 1st prize an all-expenses paid trip to Bovington where you can double check the paint schemes and unit insignia on the panzers.

^ No doubt, it's a special accolade. But could you really spot the difference between the 1943 Ostfront woodland camo paint-job on a command variant Panther III and the 1944 Normandy version?

No I couldn't either but O_O_T_S could!
